Australia is currently undergoing its largest immigration drive in 40 years, tempting workers to the country with promises of shorter hours, a better climate and a lower cost of living. Before you apply you should obtain evidence of your English language ability. If you are from an English speaking Country this may be less relevant.
Specific work experience
This differs from the basic requirement of recent work experience, without which you can not make a valid application. The number of points you are awarded for this factor vary. It depends on the number of points for your nominated occupation and the period of time you have worked in your nominated occupation, closely related occupation or skilled employment.

Australian qualifications
You can be awarded points for this factor if you have completed an Australian qualification from an Australian educational institution, studying one academic year in Australia.

Before applying you should obtain certified copy of your qualifications, if you claim points for this factor. You should also note that you could claim points for this factor only if you have completed your Australian qualifications less than 6 months before you apply for migration.

Applications that achieve a score below the pass mark but above another mark called the 'pool mark' will be held in reserve for up to 2 years after assessment. If the pass mark is lowered at any time during that 2-year period and if your score is equal to, or higher than, the new pass mark, your case will be processed further
